If you search for slave for example, slave, slavery and slaves will automatically be returned.
You can search for a term, for example, slave trade. Note, the words have to appear consecutively in the subject entry to bring a return.
You can also search for words not listed consecutively by using the % sign. Note that slave%Africa will give a different result to Africa%slave.
Do be aware of variant spelling, as there is no thesaurus to cross reference.
